Winter Season of Life

Hebrews 13:15 says: “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that confess His name”.

James 5:11 "As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

Branches burdened with heavy snow.
Bowed and bent they touch the ground
Life giving sap no longer flows
While roots lay dormant beneath the frozen soil

Grey skies leaden with threatened storms
Offer no comfort to those who mourn
Northern winds nip at those exposed
Unprepared for winter woes

In this season of snow and ice
Our inner resources no longer suffice
When our hearts can no longer sing
A painful sacrifice we must bring;

To lift up frostbitten hands to Him
Heavy burdens that we bear
To be given into His care
Misshapen branches we now will be
Touched by the hands of eternity.
