Stand Down

Are you feeling battle-weary and tired?  Tired in spirit, soul, mind and body?
Maybe God is calling you to, "Stand down, soldier."
"Stand down" is an order that is reserved for a moment of extreme emergency and issued with authority.  A command for the soldier to stop offensive military action.
It is important when in this season of battle that we run to God. Not only to be refreshed but to seek safety in Him.  We rest and wait in His presence.
God will supernaturally stir up intercessors to pray for us.  They will rise from their beds as the Spirit of God calls them to pray.
If all you can do is cry out to God, "help", He will act on your behalf.  Jesus Himself intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father and hearts of others will be called to join Him.
2 Chronicles 20:15b  (New International Version)
'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.
Are you desperate,  vulnerable?
When you have no solution; no where else to go.  There is nothing to lose by calling out "HELP ME GOD!"
Difficult situations can be used of God to draw us closer to Him. Satan of course wants to use the same circumstances to turn us from God.  That is why it is important to respond as Jehoshaphat's army did:
2 Chronicles 20:16-19 (Amplified Bible)

Tomorrow go down to them. Behold, they will come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the ravine before the Wilderness of Jeruel.

You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.

You will not need to fight in this battle but you need to take your position and stand still in it.  You find your position by meditating on those scriptures that minister to your heart at this time.
  • You mull over them.
  • You chew them.
  • You read them aloud.
  • You shout them.
  • You whisper them.
  • You write them out.
(At times I use a small photo album that I keep in my purse.  I slide 3 by 5 inch file cards with scriptures on them into the pockets.  I pull this out to read when stopped at red lights).

So soldier, He may be calling you away from active battle for awhile. To "stand down" and let Him fight the battle for you.

Article "Stand Still" expands on this thought.
